HISTORY
Arvada has its roots in gold mining in the 1850s, though it quickly became a farming community in the following years. Arvada became an incorporated town in 1904 and was dubbed the "Celery Capital of the World." You can find much more historical information on Arvada at http://www.arvadahistory.org/# and by visiting the museum at the Arvada Center.
Today, Arvada is a thriving Denver suburb in Jefferson County, with many unique neighborhoods and homes. Residents love its proximity to both Denver and a main highway to the mountains, and we hear from many that they love their neighborhoods too — from the local parks and quality rec centers to the friendly faces.
